You can PreOrder Frank NOW!
Summer is over – kids are back in school, at least in the south. In 32 days I will get on a plane, fly to New York City, gather up my cast and head out on tour with Baby Shark (lord help me) I’ll be on the road, I believe until mid-February. I’m aware of how many times I will have to hear that baby shark song, and it makes me more nervous about my sanity than the release of my book, Frank.
Three Hundred copies of my book Frank were delivered to my apartment last week. I also had a conversation with my publisher about my author website. An author website. I. Am. An. Author. I still find that hard to believe even with 300 books filled with my words sitting in the entryway of my apartment. Maybe passing them every time I leave and come back home will remind me that “Yes, Gina, you are an author. Yes, Gina, you accomplished another goal you didn’t even know you set for yourself”.
I had a conversation with a friend about the initial order of books and their delivery date, and he said: “wow 300?!?”. When I explained I would be shipping the ones purchased from my website myself, he then said: “oh, well you’re gonna need a lot more than that!” While I do love and appreciate his enthusiasm, I’m pretty sure my family will be putting some of these original 300 books in my casket when I die. This whole writing a book, getting it published, and building a website, have all been a slow, arduous process and never once did I get butterflies. Not even when I got the letter from the publisher saying they wanted to publish Frank. However, last week, with the arrival of all those books, I finally set those butterflies free to fly and fly around my stomach they did, like crazy.
Frank isn’t a very long book, but it’s actually as long as The Great Gatsby, it is longer than Benjamin Button, and it is all mine. Will this little book make me a millionaire, it most certainly will not, but it’s another thing, like my bakery, with some urging from my husband, I believed I could, so I did.
The official release date is September 1, but for my faithful readers of this blog, you can preorder the book starting today. So here you go, head over to ginadenicola.com and pre-order Frank, the first 50 people who place an order get a signed copy (for whatever that is worth). I’m proud of these words, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did writing the story. I will apologize now if you cry in public or the privacy of your own home, but many people call me the Nicholas Sparks of blogging, why did you think my book would be any different!
